Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is trialing an AI-based “prescribing assistant” that helps doctors quickly determine personalised antibiotic regimens to reduce side effects. SGH collaborated with DXC Technology and Synapxe to develop Augmented Intelligence in Infectious Diseases (AI2D), which is mainly used for the diagnosis of patients with pneumonia and urinary tract infections. AI2D lets doctors know whether antibiotics are needed and recommend the type and dosage of antibiotics based on the patient's clinical data.
