When the National University Health System (NUHS) was newly set up, it inherited seven healthcare institutions and two siloed on-premise HR systems, without mobile access for staff, that needed consolidation and modernisation. Managing two disparate systems and reporting was cumbersome, requiring extensive effort and time.
To address this, IBM and NUHS collaborated to implement the cloud-based SAP SuccessFactors platform, integrating it with NUHS’ core payroll applications while retaining key systems and sensitive data on-premise. Synapxe’s close partnership with NUHS and IBM was also important to the successful transformation of NUHS’ HR system. As the integration partner, Synapxe facilitated the seamless data migration and integration of SuccessFactors with the relevant backend enterprise systems.
The NUHS, Synapxe, SAP and IBM teams completed the project in 10 months, making NUHS Singapore’s first healthcare cluster to provide a cloud-based HR solution with mobile self-service capabilities.
Now, among a score of other benefits, mobile access and self-service features provide a better user experience. With a single group-wide system, NUHS can now align HR policies and processes across all their institutions, while the technical team can build a single, shared HR database to support HR analytics and decision-making. It has proved a major step forward for NUHS in delivering more agile and responsive HR services.
