At OpenGov’s Breakfast Insight, senior government leaders, cybersecurity specialists and innovators explored how continuous, AI-driven exposure validation can shift cyber defence from reactive to proactive, intelligence-led operations. Eric Wong, Director of Cyber Operations & Technologies at Synapxe emphasised that automated exposure validation cannot be approached as a numbers game. He mentioned that risk needs to be asset-based and efforts to defend against every threat is not effective. Eric explained that organisations should tier their assets by criticality, identify the most critical, then leverage relevant threat intelligence to determine which vulnerabilities matter most. He added, “True resilience doesn’t come from managing alerts – it comes from building systems that continuously adapt, validate themselves and empower humans to act where it matters most.”
