City-state resorts to AI and robotics to address challenges in aging society

With one in five being 65 years old or over, the Singapore government is stepping up the use of artificial intelligence and robotics to cope with the aging, with technology introduced to help offset labour constraints in sectors like healthcare. The article featured Synapxe, highlighting that its efforts in leading this transformation through strategic partnerships such as a collaboration agreement with OpenAI, as well as memorandums of understanding with Google Cloud and services from other tech companies. The article also quoted what former CEO Ngiam Siew Ying said during the AI Accelerate 2025 event in June: “AI holds immense promise for transforming health care through innovation… By harnessing its capabilities, we are developing solutions that enhance predictive and personalised care and improve health outcomes for everyone.”
