All healthcare professionals in Singapore’s public healthcare sector can now create, use and share personalised AI agents using ‘Synapxe AgentSea’, a sector-wide agentic AI platform. Using natural language, public healthcare professionals can create and customise AI agents to support their daily tasks, with little to no technical expertise required. From clinical record summarisation and procurement reviews to roster generation and everyday productivity tasks, healthcare professionals can create AI agents to automate multi-step workflows and complete tasks more efficiently, allowing them to focus on delivering patient care. This announcement was made by Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information & Ministry of Health, Tan Kiat How, at the HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) Global Health Conference & Exhibition APAC held at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.
AgentSea is the latest addition to a suite of national AI platforms for users across the public healthcare sector. It builds on the capabilities of earlier initiatives such as HEALIX, Synapxe Tandem, and AimSG, which collectively supports Singapore’s broader strategy to harness AI responsibly, strengthen workforce productivity and enhance the delivery of patient care. As a key building block in our AI infrastructure, AgentSea empowers healthcare professionals with secure, practical and accessible AI capabilities developed for their everyday work.
Building Confidence in AI Through Adoption
Over 12,000 AI agents have been created across public healthcare on AgentSea since it was first introduced just over two months ago. This reflects the growing interest amongst healthcare professionals in experimenting with AI to assist in their daily workflows. In addition to basic productivity use cases, users are also creating AI agents to support their work in specialised operational and clinical workflows.
Assistant Professor Kenneth Michael Chew, Consultant from the Department of Cardiology at National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), developed an AI agent on AgentSea to help streamline pre-clerking and preparation for complex patient consultations.
"Pre-clerking refers to preparation work done prior to patient consultations. It can take considerable time and effort, and includes reviewing patient histories, flagging relevant clinical details, and consolidating records. Having an AI agent aid in these tasks has made this work more manageable. Through AgentSea, I was able to create a specific agent for this task, even without coding experience. AgentSea's 'Test Agent Response' feature has enabled me to improve and verify the output, which I have found to be accurate. This has not replaced the need for verification or my own clinical assessment, but has made my preparation more efficient, allowing me to focus on delivering more personalised care during consultations."
Enabling Collaboration, Capability Building and Trusted AI Adoption
In addition to supporting individual productivity, AgentSea fosters productivity at scale through enabling users to share AI agents across teams and institutions. Out of all the agents created, over 300 agents have been made shareable by users for others to reuse and adapt for their own tasks. Users who wish to create complex enterprise agents can collaborate with Synapxe on use cases spanning from employee services, IT support, operational workflows, selected clinical use cases and more.
Examples of complex enterprise agents that are currently being explored include an agent for the human resource team to automate employee data change status request within the system, and another that supports the clinical operations team with report preparation, surgical-round summaries, and medication calculations. These solutions aim to reduce manual effort, improve turnaround times and enhance operational efficiency for our public healthcare professionals. Together, these efforts accelerate the adoption of AI best practices, helping to amplify the impact of AI across the healthcare sector.
To support and encourage the use of AgentSea, healthcare professionals will have access to training workshops, learning resources and collaboration challenges designed to build confidence in working with AI agents and promote co-creation across public healthcare.
Co-developed with Amazon Web Services (AWS), AgentSea combines healthcare domain expertise with advanced AI technologies to support the adoption of agentic AI across public healthcare. AgentSea provides a secure and governed environment for healthcare professionals to harness AI while maintaining trust and safety. Aligned with Singapore’s national agentic AI governance standards, the platform incorporates robust security, data protection and privacy safeguards to ensure sensitive information remains protected and is not shared externally. This complements the built-in governance controls, including access to approved tools and connectors, as well as audit logging and monitoring to enable the safe and responsible use of agentic AI across public healthcare.
Andy Ta, Chief Data Officer and Director of Data, AI & Innovation at Synapxe said, “AgentSea is a significant step forward in our journey to AI-enable public healthcare and transform how we work. By empowering our healthcare professionals with practical AI capabilities, we enable them to simplify time-consuming tasks and spend more time on patient care, collaboration and other areas where their expertise matters most. The encouraging response reflects the growing interest from healthcare professionals in applying AI at work. Through continued collaborations with tech partners such as AWS, we aim to advance AI capabilities responsibly and support the continued transformation of healthcare through technology.”
