At Synapxe, we believe innovation goes beyond just brainstorming ideas or adopting the latest technologies. It’s about building a culture where diverse expertise from administration and operations to highly specialised clinical fields all come together to co-create and scale impactful solutions. By championing collaboration, we strive to transform Singapore’s public healthcare ecosystem and drive meaningful change every day.
Innovation is often seen as the key to shaping our industry's future, but it thrives only when safety, security, and collaboration are prioritised. At Synapxe, these values are central to the mission of our Innovation Capabilities Enablement (ICE) team, guiding everything we do.
Innovation with Impact starts with teamwork

“Collaboration is at the heart of true innovation. By bringing together Public Healthcare Institutions and the tech industry, we unlock new perspectives and ideas. This will allow us to create impactful solutions that meet Singapore’s evolving healthcare needs and deliver better outcomes for everyone.”
Henry Kang, Director of Innovation Capabilities Enablement (ICE), Synapxe
In 2025, we put collaboration front and center, working closely with public healthcare and industry partners to spark innovation. One of our biggest milestones was the launch of HealthX Innovation Sandbox 2.0 (HX-IS 2.0). By tapping into Singapore’s Healthcare Commercial Cloud (HCC), we gave developers and tech startups the chance to build and test cutting-edge HealthTech solutions in near-real-world settings.
A great example of this collaboration in action is Carecam, a local HealthTech startup, teaming up with Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). This 3D gait analysis system uses just an iPad and artificial intelligence to examine how patients walk. This breakthrough tool helps to spot mobility issues and track the rehabilitation progress of stroke patients.
We want to bridge the gap between cutting-edge innovation and real clinical needs. Recently, our team championed two new use cases on AimSG, Singapore’s first public AI Medical Imaging Platform. One exciting development is a chest X-ray AI model that is now helping the National Healthcare Group’s Tuberculosis Screening Centre spot TB faster. The other is a bone trauma AI tool in the emergency department at Woodlands Hospital, speeding up diagnosis and treatment when every minute counts.
Our support for HealthTech startups hasn’t slowed down either. At HealthX Startup Day 2025, we put out an Open Call for Ideas, inviting startups from Singapore and beyond to tackle real-world healthcare challenges based on themes set by Public Healthcare Providers. By connecting innovative thinkers with industry needs, we’re helping to shape solutions that matter and paving the way for new ideas to thrive in Singapore’s healthcare ecosystem.
All these initiatives highlight Synapxe’s role as a connector and catalyst, bringing together public healthcare institutions, clinicians, startups, and industry partners to spark breakthroughs and deliver healthcare solutions that truly make a difference.
Innovation Through Collaboration and Demand‑Driven Partnerships
Healthcare thrives on diversity. Cardiologists, neurologists, radiologists, and psychiatrists each bring unique perspectives and needs to the table. Innovation is the key to helping healthcare professionals work smarter, faster, and with greater precision.
At Synapxe, we want to unite these different voices. By fostering shared mission and goals, we’re not just driving progress for healthcare workers, we will continue to work closely with our partners to make a real difference for patients, too. Inspiring better health for tomorrow, starting with collaboration today.

“Healthcare innovation is all about connecting the right dots. Hospitals and healthcare professionals know the real challenges firsthand. Meanwhile, the tech industry and researchers are constantly developing new ideas and tools. Our mission as part of the Sector Alliance team is to bring these worlds together, building a collaborative ecosystem that drives real improvements in public healthcare.”
Vicky Tang, Assistant Director of Innovation Capabilities Enablement (ICE), Synapxe
