What is AgentSea?

Routine administrative tasks in public healthcare can feel repetitive and time-consuming, pulling healthcare professionals away from the work that matters most. What if a personal digital assistant could turn those manual steps — whether it’s consolidating patient histories or preparing duty rosters — into automated workflows, saving hours and freeing clinicians to focus on caring for their patients.

Introducing Synapxe AgentSea, a sector-wide agentic AI platform that empowers every public healthcare professional in Singapore to create personalised AI agents using plain natural language. No coding expertise required: simply describe their goal as a prompt, and AgentSea builds an agent that orchestrates multi-step workflows. Unlike existing generative AI tools, AgentSea breaks complex tasks into clear steps, works with documents, uses approved tools and produces structured outputs for everyday operational work.

These workflows cover a wide range of functions, from clinical record summarisation and procurement reviews, to roster generation and everyday productivity tasks. By handling repeatable operational work, AgentSea lets healthcare professionals spend less time on routine tasks and more time on what truly matters.

How have healthcare professionals been using AgentSea?

Clinic Follow-Up Assistant to make pre-consultation more efficient

Consultant cardiologist, Assistant Professor Kenneth Michael Chew, using the Clinic Follow-Up Assistant to prepare for patient consultations more easily.

At the National Heart Centre Singapore, Assistant Professor Kenneth Michael Chew, a consultant cardiologist with no coding background, developed a Clinic Follow-Up Assistant on AgentSea to help consolidate and “pre-clerk” patient information ahead of consultations. In the past, reviewing and consolidating large volumes of patient histories could be a demanding process, requiring significant time and effort. Important information may also be overlooked when reviewing large volumes of records. The agent has since helped him streamline the process and minimise errors, allowing him to prepare for his consultations more efficiently and effectively.

Using AgentSea's "Test Agent Response" feature, Dr Chew was also able to fine-tune and validate the assistant's outputs. He said: “This has not replaced the need for verification or my own clinical assessment, but has made my preparation more efficient, allowing me to focus on delivering more personalised care during consultations.”

Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist Jordon Foo introducing how Daily Roster Generator has reduced the manual effort of assigning staff and “standbys”.

Daily Roster Generator to free staff from repetitive scheduling tasks

At KK Women's and Children's Hospital, Jordon Foo, a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist, built a Daily Roster Generator that automatically produces duty rosters from existing templates. Previously, preparing rosters required extensive manual data entry and repeated cross‑checking, which raised the risk of incorrect staff assignments and improper standby allocation – issues that could disrupt daily operations. After integrating the agentic tool into their workflow, the team substantially reduced manual effort, rostering mistakes, and the time needed to prepare recurring daily rosters.

Beyond these examples, teams are also exploring more complex enterprise agents. These include building an agent to help human resource teams automate employee data change requests, and another to support clinical operations teams with report preparation, surgical-round summaries, and medication calculations. These are part of a growing range of ways AgentSea is being used to reduce manual effort across public healthcare.

Built for trust, aligned with national standards

As the latest addition to a suite of national AI platforms, AgentSea builds on earlier initiatives such as HEALIX, Synapxe Tandem and AimSG to support Singapore's strategy to harness AI responsibly, strengthen workforce productivity and enhance care delivery. Co-developed with Amazon Web Services (AWS), AgentSea combines healthcare domain expertise with advanced AI capabilities in a secure, governed environment aligned to national agentic AI governance standards. The platform incorporates robust security, data protection and privacy safeguards to ensure that sensitive information remains protected and is not shared externally.

Continuing adoption and enablement

Since its introduction in the Public Healthcare sector over two months ago, more than 12,000 AI agents have been created, with over 300 made shareable by users for others to reuse and adapt for their own tasks. To support greater adoption, healthcare professionals will have access to training workshops, learning resources and collaboration challenges that build capability and promote co-creation across the sector. For those looking to develop more complex enterprise agents, teams can collaborate with Synapxe on selected use cases across employee services, IT support, operational workflows, clinical operations and more.

AgentSea will continue to evolve with new capabilities that automate more processes, expand supported workflows, and further boost productivity. By enabling healthcare professionals to simplify repetitive work and freeing up their time to focus on patient care, AgentSea is one example of how Synapxe and Public Healthcare continue to work closely on technological solutions to power a healthier Singapore.
