IHiS, Health Promotion Board, Defence Science and Technology Agency and the Ministry of Health were jointly awarded the IT Leaders Awards 2021 – Tech Heroes in Crisis (Infrastructure category) by the Singapore Computer Society for their efforts in helping Singapore scale up COVID-19 testing. Various technologies were deployed, including the COVID-19 Test Repository (CTR) developed by IHiS.
IHiS was also recognised in the same category for its role in deploying critical IT infrastructure and solutions at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National Centre for Infectious Diseases. These included the Command, Control and Communications (C3) system, which provided real-time visibility of patient flow and resources, helping healthcare teams optimise operations and manage the surge in COVID-19 cases.
