HOW DO YOU WANT TO GROW OLD?

We often ask our bright young minds: "What do you want to do when you grow up?" This SG60, Synapxe subverts the age-old question on career ambitions, and instead calls on Singaporeans to reimagine what it means to grow old – with the children of our Synapxe family showing us another way forward for the next 60 years. Through this initiative, we encourage Singaporeans to envision a positive ageing journey supported by HealthTech innovations and technology.

"How Do You Want to Grow Old?"

Our campaign video invites everyone to join the conversation about reimagining what it means to grow old. Through spontaneous and inspiring answers from the kids of our Synapxe family, we encourage all to explore a future where vitality and purpose are the norm, and where HealthTech empowers us to live healthier, happier and more active lives.

Redesigning the Elderly Crossing Sign

As part of our SG60 engagement effort, we created an interactive, on-ground experience that allows people of all ages to control the elderly icon - "redesigning" the iconic sign that has, for many years, represented the elderly and ageing. By making it dance and move freely, we symbolise how we can live life with strength and purpose, regardless of age.

Transforming Care to Empower Lives: 10 Projects Powering our Future Healthcare

At Synapxe, we connect Singapore’s Health ecosystem through technology, serving the public healthcare sector and citizens. Synapxe manages about 600 health IT systems, many of which ensure 24/7 delivery of services across various care settings. Here is a selection of 10 initiatives and innovations delivered in partnership with public healthcare partners, which demonstrate how we are transforming care experiences and outcomes for patients and healthcare professionals.

Category  Initiative
National Programmes

1. HealthHub

One-stop national platform for digital health for Singapore residents that can be conveniently accessed via the online portal or mobile application. Users can view evidence-based health and wellness information, access health records, and perform transactions such as appointment booking and bill payment.

2. National Electronic Health Record (NEHR)

NEHR consolidates essential health information from diverse healthcare settings into a comprehensive overview, promoting better coordination, informed decision-making, accurate diagnosis, improved treatment, and patient-centred integrated care.

3. Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR)

NGEMR is an advanced centralised electronic medical record system that records the patient journey from point of admission to discharge and outpatient appointments. It provides a single patient record across healthcare institutions of National Healthcare Group (NHG) and the National University Health System (NUHS) to enhance care management and delivery.

4. Telehealth

National Telehealth initiatives, including Mobile Inpatient Care at Home (MIC@Home), which leverages Video Consultation and Remote Clinical Monitoring capabilities, have been progressively scaled up across Singapore to extend care from hospitals to homes. In parallel, Remote Clinical Monitoring has also enabled the rollout of Primary Tech-Enabled Care (PTEC-HT) pilot across all polyclinics, supporting community-based care.

Clinics and Hospitals

5. Command, Control and Communications (C3)

The C3 system functions as the ‘brain’ of the hospital. It can sense, think, optimise patient flow and care delivery to enable the best care for every patient, in real time, and provide a more holistic view to the hospital ecosystem.

6. GPConnect

GPConnect is an essential clinical management system for GPs and clinic assistants that streamlines daily operations, including patient registration, consultations, medicine dispensation, and billing, in alignment with MOH policy changes including the Healthier SG programme.

7. Outpatient Pharmacy Automation System (OPAS)

The OPAS automates the sorting, packing, assembling, and dispensing of various medications, including blister packs, boxes, and loose tablets, by integrating seven multi-disciplinary technologies and robotics into a comprehensive end-to-end solution.

 Health AI

8. AI Medical Imaging Platform (AimSG)

Singapore’s first medical imaging platform accelerating the adoption of AI in radiology and other medical imaging disciplines. AimSG allows for "hot swapping" of AI models so public healthcare institutions can easily update or change models, reducing costs and enhancing operational efficiency. Augmenting medical imaging workflows with AI can lead to improvement in clinical outcomes and productivity.

9. Health Empowerment thru Advanced Learning & Intelligent eXchange (HEALIX)

HEALIX is a cloud-based analytics platform that consolidates data from various healthcare systems, enabling all public healthcare professionals to access consistent, up-to-date data to support their AI and machine learning initiatives. This promotes data sharing and experimentation of new tools, supporting the rapid development of AI models aimed at enhancing patient care.

10. Tandem

A secure GenAI platform for public healthcare professionals to safely explore, experiment, test and deploy GenAI applications at scale.
