New healthcare technologies were showcased at HealthTechX Asia 2026, including a multilingual emergency voice alert device developed by local start-up iSense-ASV to help seniors call for assistance after falls without needing a phone.
Speaking at the conference, SMS Tan said technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) could help transform Singapore’s healthcare system to meet the needs of a super-aged society, supported by initiatives such as the HEALIX cloud platform for AI development and the Health Information Act (HIA) to strengthen data-sharing and cybersecurity safeguards. He also highlighted Singapore’s efforts to scale healthcare innovation nationally, including genomics-based preventive care programmes and updated Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Guidelines (AIHGle) to ensure patient safety and responsible AI use.
